Do you take opioids daily, struggle with opioid use disorder or know someone who does? Then carry naloxone. Carry with you the power to reverse an overdose and save a life.
Naloxone is a medication that can save someone who has overdosed on opioids. It is safe to use and has almost no side effects. Having naloxone on hand is essential because an overdose can happen to anyone using opioids. This includes people with opioid use disorder AND people taking opioids to treat pain.
Most states--including Colorado--have a standing order for naloxone prescriptions. This means anyone can go to almost any pharmacy, ask for naloxone and get it without a prescription.
The resources and Videos pages provide instructions and training so anyone can recognize and overdose and administer naloxone.
If you need help for opioid addiction we encourage you to seek treatment, by calling the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) helpline: 1-800-662-HELP (4357).
In Colorado, Rocky Mountain Crisis Partners offers free counseling and navigation to people with OUD. Call 1-888-211-7766 to connect with their 24-hour help line.
